History

In the province “Luik” is a small mining town called “Cheratte” with a few thousand citizens.

The mine Hasard Cheratte was first opened in 1850 and closed because of an accident in 1877 thirty years later it was reopened in 1907 for the mining of “stone coal” but was closed again in 1977.

At most there have worked over 1500 people and the demolition of a few buildings is planned this year (2016).
